#EMchat is a weekly Twitter chat held on Thursdays, 9PM EST. We’ve started this blog to continue the conversation throughout the week and expand on the ideas and concepts shared! We’re constantly sourcing for new ideas and discussion topics–so feel free to post away or shoot us an email!
Both the chat and blog are moderated by Jennielle Strother (@EMjennielle), Alex Williams (@AlexMWilliams_), and Jillian Hiscock (@jhiscock).
This is great! I got my MSEd in EM from Capella in 2010 and was promoted to Director of EM at a Presbyterian Seminary soon after. Although I have a weekly choir rehearsal that will prevent me from participating in the chats on Thursday, I will def be checking in with the blog and saved search on twitter!
Hi Michelle!
I’m a CU alum, and I graduated w my MEd-EM in 2010 too…AND I’m also at a seminary! We absolutely MUST connect! Are you on twitter? What’s your handle? I hope you’re able to participate in one of our #EMchats soon!
Awesome, Michelle–thanks for checking us out! Let us know if there are any particular topics you’re interested in. We’re always looking for new content to work into our chats. Have a great holiday!
Jenielle:
I am on Twitter. My handle is michellejwalker. Are you at Austin Episcopal? I see that you post their Advent devotions. I have a couple of dear friends at Austin Presbyterian and have visited your seminary while I’m there.
A resource from me to you:
ATS has a student services conference each year in April. It’s EMs, FA officers, Admissions people, registrars–you know everyone at a seminary who actually works! This year it’s in San Antonio. If you’re not already signed up to get the announcements, you can do that on the ATS website.
Have a very Merry Christmas and a happy new year!
Michelle
Hi Michelle!
Happy New Year! Yes, I’ll be at SPAN this year! Will you be there? Let’s connect if you are. I want to suggest a great ATS conference as well: I was accepted to attend their “Women in Leadership” seminary in October and it was excellent. They start accepting applications late Spring, I believe. You should definitely consider applying! It was wonderful: http://www.ats.edu/LeadershipEducation/Pages/WomenInLeadership.aspx
I’ll find you on twitter!
Blessings!
Jennielle
Jennielle:
I will be at SPAN so we will definitely connect there! I did the WiL seminar back in 2007, right as I started my degree with Capella. You’re right; it is great and I have recommended it to several other people. It was the impetus for me to go forward in my career.
I’ll see you in April in San Antonio. In the meantime, looking forward to your EM posts!
Michelle
YAY! I am looking forward to it! Do you know any other EMers that will be attending SPAN? Let’s do it up big and do a tweet-up!
