Ukraine Interested in a National Cryptocurrency?

Several countries have shown intentions so far to release national cryptocurrencies. Among these countries are for instance Russia and Venezuela. Actually, Venezuela is very close in releasing its national cryptocurrency, the petro. Now, it appears that Ukraine will also join this list as the country appears to be willing to release its own cryptocurrency.

Authorities revealed that the country's central bank has been looking into the possibility of releasing its own cryptocurrency. For the moment, no other relevant details were revealed about his plan, so it remains to be seen if Ukraine will make some solid steps on that direction.

The alleged "uncontrolled circulation of cryptocurrencies" in the country seems to be now a reason of concern.

The authorities reached the conclusion that the lack of regulation on the cryptocurrency market is putting an important threat on the country's economy and security. Furthermore, considering that cryptocurrencies are getting more and more popularity in the country, the subject of regulating them had to be discussed.

The working group is expected to come with some proposals to regulate the market and impose a better oversight on cryptocurrencies. The working group will also look into the possibility of imposing taxes on the cryptocurrency market.
