The CEO of Landry's Says Bitcoin will Not Go Away
The cryptocurrency market has grown in a spectacular manner in 2017, so there is no wonder that many investors became interested in this market. While some people talked in favor of bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market, others considered it to be similar to a bubble which will burst at one point.
Among the people who believe that bitcoin will not be gone very soon is billionaire Tilman Fertitta, who actually said during a recent interview with CNBC that Bitcoin "is here to stay." According to Fertitta, who is the founder and CEO of Landry's, bitcoin is real and is not going away. However, it is important to mention that Fertitta did see some similarities between cryptocurrencies and bubbles.
In fact, he claimed that many people have made a lot of money from bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market, but they seem to forget that their ecosystem is similar to the dot-com bubble. Around 20 years ago, Fertitta said, adding the ".com" extension to the end of a company's name actually helped its stock increase.
Fertitta: Bitcoin is here to stay
The fact that many people managed to make a good amount of money thanks to bitcoin is no secret. However, Fertitta believes that his prediction is only valid when it comes to bitcoin. So, he only said that bitcoin is here to stay, but did not refer to the other cryptocurrencies. Still, he thinks that given that bitcoin is fairly new, there are a lot of things that people need to learn about it.
According to Fertitta, one of the most important minuses for bitcoin is that it is not insured by the government. However, this does not mean that Fertitta does not see his company working with bitcoin in the future. He did not exclude the possibility of accepting the cryptocurrency and said that this is most likely going to happen.
