Start Mining Petro Cryptocurrency: Venezuela is Recruiting
Venezuela is one of the few countries which have officially revealed until now that they are working to release a national cryptocurrency. And without a doubt, Venezuela is also the most advanced country when it comes to its steps towards actually releasing such a digital currency.
Venezuela is allegedly looking for miners which will be in charge with mining the national digital currency. Of course, the entire activity will be monitored by the government. The Government of Venezuela has announced that it opened up a registry in which miners can sign up if they want to mine the upcoming national cryptocurrency.
It definitely seems that the project is enjoying a lot of success, as it has been revealed that no less than 860,811 people have registered so far and are interested in developing mining farms for the Petro. The people who registered are reportedly from all over Venezuela.
The Registry of Cryptocurrency Miners is accessible to anyone
Anyone interested in mining the Petro can sign up to the Registry of Cryptocurrency Miners. All that people need is a national identification form and they can be on the list.
People can sign up until January 21, when the registry will be closed. The search for miners was launched by the Superintendence of Cryptocurrencies and Related Activities.
Local media reported that miners will also enjoy another benefit. They will be able to access other cryptocurrencies as well, if these currencies have been authorized by the government. This means that they can acquire any cryptocurrency.
Who is in charge with creating the Petro?
Actually, the president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, created authorities with the main mission to keep oversight on the release of the Petro. These authorities are the Superintendency of Cryptocurrency and the Blockchain Observatory.
The fact that Venezuela will release its own cryptocurrency was first revealed by Maduro back in December. The country previously showed interest in releasing its own cryptocurrency, so the decision did not come as a shock.
