What Novelties Does Zen 3 Bring For The Ryzen 4000?
Since we started the day with news about new Intel CPUs, let’s have a look on what is happening in the other camp. Rumors has it that Ryzen 4000 based on Zen 3 architecture is already in testing.
The rumor has, as with all other rumors, must be taken with a grain of salt, but since it is already out let's see what’s all this fuss about.
According to information now buzzing on the internet, the next processor architecture from AMD has already arrived in some test labs in China. They would report that engineering samples run at frequencies of 200MHz higher than the Ryzen 3000. Given that we still have a long time to wait until they arrive on the market, this frequency could even increase, of course, if the rumor proves to be true.
Then, the news goes that Zen 3 will bring an increase of only 8% in terms of IPC (instructions per clock). That is, at the same frequency, a Ryzen 4000 processor would be 8% faster than a Ryzen 3000. It's not a big leap, but Zen 3 comes with architectural changes that should eliminate from the latency of communication between cores, since now a CCX it seems to contain 8 cores, not just 4, as with the 3000 series.
Again, these are rumors that verification is not possible at the moment. But at least there are no gags about 5GHz frequencies out of the box, like last time.
