PlayStation 4 System Software Update 7.00 - What's New and Why Should You Update
PlayStation 4 users will be greeted today with a software update that brings some new features to the system from Sony. System Software 7.00 for PlayStation 4 introduces some interesting features, such as changes in Party function, Remote Play on Android devices, HDR enhancements and more. The update has around 450MB.
Below we have attached a complete list of changes made by the new software version:
The maximum number of people who can join a party has been increased from 8 to 16.
A chat transcript feature has been added and accessibility has been improved. When you're at a party, use your smartphone app to convert the voices of those present to text, or enter text on your phone for others to hear. This feature only works for English and is only available on PlayStation 4 systems sold in certain regions.
Network connectivity has been improved.
The audio quality of the voice also saw some optimizations.
The Remote Play feature can now be used on multiple devices. In addition to the Xperia series, Remote Play can now be used on other phones and tablets running Android 5.0 or higher. Just download PS4 Remote Play from the Google Play Store and you're ready to play. In addition, for devices running Android 10, you can connect a DualShock 4 controller via Bluetooth.
When using Remote Play on an iPhone or iPad you can set a few new things: both on the iPhone and iPad you can display the controller all the time, and on the iPhone you can lock the screen orientation. Also, if you're using iOS 13, iPadOS 13 or macOS Catalina, you can connect a DualShock 4 controller via Bluetooth for a more authentic experience.
The 7.00 system update for the PlayStation 4 is now available globally and can be downloaded when you start your new gaming session.
