iPhone 11 and iPhone XR2 Confirmed by Apple

We already know a lot about the upcoming iPhone 11 and iPhone XR2 models and their controversial design changes. But now Apple has suddenly confirmed all three models.

Reviewed by 9to5Mac, Apple chose to publish model numbers for iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max and iPhone XR2 in the Eurasian database, the official regulatory body. The model numbers are: A2111, A2160, A2161, A2215, A2216, A2217, A2218, A2219, A2220, A2221 and A2223 and identify two clear product lines: A21 and A22.

Coming in three variants, the A21 will be the new iPhone XR, which comes in three storage sizes and uses a slower Intel modem. The A22 consists of the iPhone 11 and 11 Max devices and each of the three storage sizes plus two additional model numbers that probably refer to different component suppliers around the world because Apple did the same thing last year.

How do we know that model numbers are not just records for the newly released iPad Air 2019 and iPad mini 5? Because Apple recorded these devices in the Eurasian database in January, two months before their release in March. Additionally, the numbers follow Apple's previously recorded format in the Eurasian database for iPhone XS and XR.

Finally, since the Eurasian database is an official regulatory body, it is never wrong. So, despite being obsessed with secrecy, Apple can not dodge the database.

Interestingly, although we already know what the new iPhone models (with their good and bad parts) will look like, the upgrade details, the incremental improvements, as well as their launch names remain a mystery. Most likely they will be called iPhone 11 and iPhone XR2.

That being said, Apple is ready to take action for the autumn launch. Its Eurasian data submission was last year until July, so the new phones were already ready to run iOS 12 beta released at WWDC 2018 in June. WWDC 2019 also takes place in June, so wait until iOS 13 is unveiled next month, though the company's biggest secrets will remain hidden at the moment.
