XPG Spectrix S40G - A Super Fast M.2 SSD From ADATA
ADATA recently released the new XPG Spectrix S40G RGB M.2 SSD series. The new M.2 SSDs can reach speeds of up to 3500MB/s for reading and 3000MB/s for writing, thus outpacing the Samsung Pro series. The Spectrix S40G also comes with RGB lighting for awesome looks and an aluminum radiator for more efficient cooling.
The XPG S40G uses the standard PCIe 3.0 X4 and has SLC cache and DRAM buffer, so we have very high speeds and low latency. The model received by us for tests, one with 512GB capacity can read with a speed of 3500MB/s, just like the 256GB or 1TB variants, but the write speed is 2300MB/s, or 3000MB/s for the variant of 1TB.
The aluminum radiator has the XPG logo printed on it, and on the edge we have the RGB light which can be customized using the XPG RGB control software.
The SSD also has error correcting capabilities, thus increasing the life of the memory modules and reducing the risk of data loss. An SSD is a necessary piece on any desktop or laptop, reducing that bottleneck, caused by the classic HDDs. I personally use an SSD from ADATA, the SX8200 512GB, and the new model can be considered an upgrade, especially when working with large video files of 60-70GB and you need high speeds for reading and writing.
It is appreciated that ADATA is trying to bring quality components to the market at affordable prices and we hope that this trend will continue. Now is probably the best time to buy an SSD or a frame kit, as prices in 2020 are expected to be bigger since the demand for such components is increasing.
