New GeForce RTX 3000 Series Introduced by NVIDIA - What's New?
On the 1’st of September 2020, NVIDIA unveiled a new series of GeForce RTX 3000 graphics cards, developed on the new Ampere architecture. The boards will deliver the largest generational leap in the history of the GeForce series.
The stars presented at the event hosted by Jensen Huang are the GeForce RTX 3090, GeForce RTX 3080, and GeForce RTX 3070. NVIDIA mentioned that the new RTX 3000 series offers twice the performance over the first generation of RTX boards based on the Turing architecture.
Also, during the event, Huang unveiled a new series of tools designed and developed especially for gamers. Let's talk a little about the new innovations of the manufacturer:
NVIDIA Reflex - a new technology that measures and optimizes system latency. Reflex Low-Latency Mode is a technology that will be integrated into popular esports titles, reducing latency by up to 50%. We also get the NVIDIA Reflex Latency Analyzer which measures the input lag between the mouse and the image displayed on the monitor.
The function is integrated into the new monitors for competitive 360Hz NVIDIA G-SYNC gaming. The monitors will be launched this fall from Acer, Alienware, ASUS, and MSI. Here is a short demo for the new technology created by NVIDIA.
NVIDIA Broadcast - Streamers will enjoy this news, with this universal plugin you can significantly improve audio/video quality during the streaming session with the help of AI. You will be able to cancel the background noise easily, change the background effects, and automatically maintain the webcam frame.
NVIDIA Omniverse Machinima - the function allows users to use material from compatible games and can use their webcam in combination with artificial intelligence to create characters. You can also add realistic physical elements to generate facial and voice animations.
Specifications of The Geforce RTX 3090, RTX 3080, RTX 3070 Founders Edition graphics cards
The top model of the range is RTX 3090, with a price of $1500 and a super cute nickname: "BFGPU" - Big Ferocious GPU. The top model received special attention from the manufacturer, with a two-axis design with three compartments. In this way, NVIDIA has improved thermal performance and lowered the sound level produced.
Thanks to the new cooling system, the board would be up to 30% cooler than the TITAN RTX model, keeping the card 30 degrees Celsius cooler. The 24GB of GDDR6X memory can easily support any complex task such as complex artificial intelligence algorithms, data streams, and content creation.
The RTX 3090 graphics card is up to 50% faster than the current TITAN RTX champion, giving gamers the opportunity to experience gaming in 8K resolution at 60 frames per second.
The GeForce RTX 3080 has starting price starts of $699, and offers performance up to twice higher than the RTX 2080 model of the RTX 2000 generation. The card comes equipped with 10 GB of very fast GDDR6X memory at 19Gbps and will support without any issue a constant framerate of 60FPS in 4K resolution. Here is a short demo of the RTX 3080 presented by NVIDIA at the launch event:
The GeForce RTX 3070 can be purchased from $499 and is faster than the RTX 2080 Ti model, at a price less than half and 60% faster on average than RTX 2070. It will certainly be one of the most important plates that will not break your pocket. The card is equipped with 8GB GDDR6 memory, being a perfect board for gaming in 2K resolution, reaching its maximum potential in 4K.
When will the new GeForce RTX 3000 models be available for purchase?
The GeForce RTX 3080 will be available starting September 17. The GeForce RTX 3090 will be available for purchase starting September 24, and the GeForce RTX 3070 will be available in October.
