Windows 10 November 2019 Update - What's new?
The Windows 10 operating system is no longer treated as a finished product, but is now treated as a service made available to consumers. Winodws now receives periodic reviews, bringing improvements for both security and functionality. Windows 10 November 2019 Update, is such a revision, which brings the Windows 10 system to version 1909.
Microsoft has released seven major updates for Windows 10 so far: November Update, Anniversary Update, Creators Update, Fall Creators Update, April 2018 Update, October 2018 Update and May 2019 Update.
The eighth, November 2019 Update is a less bulky update than its predecessors and can be applied through Windows Update like any weekly patch. Users who have already installed the May 2019 Update package by upgrading to the new Windows 10 version without having to go through the troublesome process whereby the entire Windows installation is replaced.
For those who are still using Windows 10 April 2018 Update, applying the November 2019 Update becomes practically mandatory, Microsoft is turning off the technical support for this edition of Windows 10.
What's new is the November 2019 Update
Windows 10 November 2019 Update (version 1909) incorporates the same cumulative update packages as the Windows 10 May 2019 version, to which minor improvements have been applied.
After installation, users should experience a decrease in latency when using writing tools. Other optimizations for Windows Containers support should improve the security and performance of Windows applications running on protected memory partitions.
Microsoft is extending support for using voice support services other than Cortana, allowing them to operate above the Lock Screen menu, creating events using the Calendar application, displaying OneDrive content in Windows Explore searches, and more. Other adjustments have been made to how to handle notifications.
Systems equipped with certain processor models should experience improved stability and overall performance enhancement, along with improved battery consumption.
Windows 10 November 2019 update targets nearly 1 billion Windows 10 devices, with the number of users steadily increasing as old PCs running Windows 7 or XP reach the end of their life span.
IMPORTANT: Given the recurring issues reported with each slightly larger Windows update, installing the Windows 10 November 2019 version should be delayed at least a few days, until we can be sure that there are no major compatibility issues reported by other users.
