E-Win Flash XL Size Gaming Chair Review - The Perfect Support for Long Gaming Sessions
In our last article about optimizing your gaming setup we had a look at what may be one of the best gaming chairs for tall persons and E-Win’s Champion series gaming chair was the star of the article.
Today we are going to take a look at what we think would be the best solution for long gaming sessions. Of course E-Win has a solution for this as well and we chose their Flash XL Size series gaming chairs to test.
E-Win Flash XL Gaming Chair Review
Since 2016 E-Win has created gaming chairs for tall as well as big gamers and the Flash XL size gaming chair is their biggest chair the company has to offer. In fact it may be the largest chair available in the market today, as from our knowledge we did not find another gaming chair that can compete with E-Win's offer, as this monster of a gaming chair can support up to 550 pounds, is designed for heavy-duty use and can handle people up to 7ft tall.
How to assemble the E-Win Flash XL
The assembly process of the E-Win Flash Series XL size gaming chair went pretty smooth, nothing too complicated, and if you already assembled office/gaming chairs in the past you will get the hang of it really quick. All the necessary tools are already provided by EwinRacing in the box including a bonus set of gloves that should help you during assembly.
Although the assembly process is really straight forward, the instructions might be a little bit confusing if you are mounting a gaming chair for the first time. It will take a little time to comprehend the instructions but don't get discouraged, you will get the hang of it really fast and once you do the assembly process should not take you longer than 20-30 minutes. In our case it took longer, because for some reason we misplaced the Allen keys while unpacking (noob mistake we know) and we had to go and search for our own. Of course we found the ones that came with the chair, but by then the chair was already assembled.
Taking into consideration the size of the E-Win Flash XL gaming chair we do recommend getting some help from a friend to help out with the assembly because holding the seatback in position as you screw it in to its base can be a challenge if you do it by yourself.
How Comfortable is The E-Win XL Gaming Chair
The Flash XL gaming chair is marketed towards lager individuals and by doing so comfort is the chair's main attribute. It comes with the widest seat cushion we have ever seen as well as with pretty firm paddings.
A very nice feature of this very wide seat base is that if you like sitting cross-legged or one leg folded up underneath the other you can do so without thinking twice or without experiencing any discomfort. Is like sitting on a sofa. If you are average height, like we are, or anywhere below 6ft you will feel like another person can join you and you can split the chair, or you will feel like a king/queen sitting on a very large throne. Yeah, that's a good feeling!
E-Win XL Gaming Chair Materials
As in the case of the champion series that we already reviewed the quality of the materials used for this chair is top notch. The leather that covers the contact surfaces is very soft and uses E-Win's already branded material called E-WIN Stain Resistant 2.0 glittering PU Leather which according to E-Win:
"It can be cleaned repeatedly without surface damage by using a clean cloth. Also it surpasses industry performance standards for strength abrasion, hydrolysis, and UV stability, while retaining the looks and feels most like real leather that made it so popular."
The foam used for the cushion is high quality also and the elasticity of the foam helps prolong the comfort during long gaming sessions. Lumbar and back support is also very good, and after using it continuously for a week we did not experience any back pain. Something to keep in mind while looking for a gaming chair.
One thing we really like are the wheels. They are large, seem very durable (as they should considering the size of the chair), and very quiet while moving around with the chair. Rolling on different surfaces was always smooth and without any hick-ups.
As for the rest of the materials like the ones that make up the plastic coverings and the elastics of the cushions, we can say they feel pretty standard, nothing bad to say about them but nothing out of the ordinary either. They were build to be functional and nothing more.
Something worth mentioning is that the Flash XL Series Gaming Chairs are available in different colors and styles so you can choose whatever fits your gaming/office place. Some of the variants can be cheaper, at around $470 while others can reach over $500.
E-Win XL Size Gaming Chair Build Quality
The chair feels solid, and the reclining mechanism is very sturdy. You can feel it clicking smoothly into place while going in and out of position to allow the wide range of movement from 85 to 155 degrees.
The 4D armrests are good and well capable of the standard 4 dimensions adjustability. You can adjust the armrests up, down, back, forward and rotate them outwards or inwards.
As mentioned above the plastics are more practical and functional than anything else, but we don't really care about the looks here. Moving upwards we took a look at the stichings and you can see E-Win's automotive experience showing up. Just by looking at them you can see right away that they are wery well done, and without any compromises. They will last for years.
E-Win XL Size Gaming Chair Ergonomics
Probably the most important part when looking to buy a new gaming chair is the ergonomics. You will be spending a lot of time in it and proper back and lumbar support are a must! Fortunately E-Win XL performs beautifully here.
The lumbar support is assured by an included pillow that can be fastened with a pair of elastic straps allowing you to adjust the position of the pillow to match your height and seating position. It is very sturdy but at the same time comfortable and will hold its position during long gaming sessions.
Neck support is also very important and the Flash XL comes with another pillow that you can fasten with a pair of elastic straps. Unfortunately you cannot adjust it and for some people this can lead to a small discomfort. Of course you can be creative and make it stay into place but once you will leave the chair the pillow will go back to its original place. It is not an effective solution yet, but not a no go either. There are always workarounds.
Conclusions and Final Words
Overall the E-Win Flash XL Size Series gaming chair is a high quality chair with several features that anyone would love to have. The level of comfort is amazing and the ability to adjust to fit the individual is definitely a plus and it is actually build for everyone, even though it is targeted for tall and heavy users.
It's massive size provides enough room for different seating positions, a very rare feature for gaming chairs in general. Once you will have this gaming chair assembled you will no longer look for others and by the looks of it, the Flash XL will last many long and heavy late night gaming sessions.
